Singer, Actor, Composer, Songwriter, Producer Born in Chicago, Illinois, Shawn Logan’s activity begins at a young age as a soloist in the Springfield Baptist Church of Evanston, Illinois. He studied African rhythms and music in the “Living Classroom” for four years under the mentorship and teachings of Dr. Avon Gillespie. Since then he has performed in theaters, concert halls and cathedrals in Europe as well as the United States. His early roles in theatre include Chino in “West Side Story” Gus Giordano, Choreographer: the role of James Cherry in “The Disintegration of James Cherry”; Rice Theatre Ensemble. In Europe he performed the role of Dr. John Prentice in “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?” (Italian translation), as well many other theatre productions. He formed, produced and arranged music together with Davide Pistoni for the High Spirits Gospel Group, touring Italy, France and Switzerland, performing nearly 200 concerts, as well as, appearing in various European Music and Theatre Festivals. Mr Logan is featured as the lead singer of the rock blues group the Blue Messengers which produced two CD’s: Blues Messengers (1998) and Blues to Gray(2000). He was also the lead singer for the Jona’s Blues Band. While in Italy he collaborated with directors, musicians and artists such as Aldo Bassi, Amadeo Ariano, Amii Stewart, Cheryl Nickerson, Daniele Vit, Dario Deidda, Ennio Morricone, Enrico Solazzo, Eric Daniel, Frank Minnoia, Gianni Savelli, Harold Bradley, Joseph Lepore, Joy Garrison, Rosario Giugliani, Luca Casagande, Luca Trolli, Mario Martone, Mark Hanna, Lucio Dalla, Orlando Johnson, Paolo Emilio Landi ,Pasquale Scialo`, Pippo Mattino, Roberto De Simone, Stefano Sabatini,Tim Fritz, Tony Cucchiara, Urock, Zucchero to name a few. He is the creator-composer of the dance opera, Talk about a Child, based on the evolution of gospel music in the United States and the effects of gospel music upon the American and world cultures. Mr. Logan is a member of the SC Shakespearean Company with whom he has performed in Julius Caesar (Julius Caesar), Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, Romeo and Juliet (Friar). He has also appeared in Workshop Theatre productions of Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues, Caroline or Change and The Color Purple (Mister) He has written original music for the Carolina Ballet of Columbia, SC. Mr. Logan was the co-producer of the cable program “He Set Me Free”, a program featuring Southern, Urban, Contemporary Christian and gospel music. Mr. Logan was also the co=producer of the internet bsed program “Live From the Shed” on the Christian Bikers Network. Currently Mr. Logan is Director of Operations for Stepnorth Media and one of the radio personalities of WSNR.US, StepNorth Internet Radio Network based in Chicago, Illinois with listeners in over 150 countries.
